Ballet & Tap is a fantastic way for both girls and boys to develop and refine gross motor skills, flexibility, fitness and social interaction as well as an appreciation for music and rhythm.

Children's Graded Ballet is taught following the syllabus of the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing), one of the world’s leading dance examination boards. Exams are completely optional but students begin learning syllabus from Primary upwards.

Our Junior and Senior Ballet Booster classes offer students the opportunity to work beyond their weekly syllabus class and consists of a non-syllabus class, conditioning and stretching.

Children who attend these sessions also have the opportunity to attend carefully selected competitions and auditions for outside Ballet training programmes such as Northern Ballet, Yorkshire Ballet Seminars and Royal Ballet School associate programmes. These classes are by invitation. 

These classes are lively and lots of fun! They follow the ISTD Modern Theatre Syllabus where children learn core dance skills which are developed and built upon as they progress through the grades. The lessons are based around a structured syllabus which involves learning set exercises as well as free dances, providing the children with the opportunity to take exams. Styles range from fast and funky to lyrical and Musical Theatre for a well rounded dance education.

Tap dance is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of recreational dance. Tap is excellent for developing a sense of rhythm, coordination and musicality and children have great fun making different sounds with their feet! Tap is taught as a combined class for our pre-school and Primary dancers, students then take tap as an individual graded class.

This class is perfect for students from school year 7+, who want to explore movement and creativity while learning dance technique, proper alignment, use of breath and weight and performance quality. It is an emotive and creative style which combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. 
The class will start with a warm up, floor work, travelling steps from the corner and across the floor and end with short dance sequences and routines. 

For students 8+. This class can be taken as a stand alone class but is more beneficial if another style such as Ballet or Modern is taken. Acrobatic dance is the combination of dance technique with acrobatic elements. Acrobatic dance technique includes, balancing, tumbling, flexibility, strength and basic contortion, all blending seamlessly into dance. Acro dancers must integrate acrobatic elements alongside musicality, control and expression. This is a mixed ability class where students are given individual progressions.
